Great Movie

"Well, it wasn't that bad"

submission: Great Movie
date: August 18, 2004

All you guys had to do was change the address from where it said the w=15 to w=400 or something and you can see it just fine. Other than that it wasn't that bad. The low score however is based on the fact that the author sized the movie so poorly when he uploaded it.

Change the size to a suitable size and there is no problem, as the graphics and such were OK enough to be maybe a high 2 movie.

D-Fence the Game...

"Scha-wate"

date: August 5, 2004

This game was great. I played it for about an hour or so like 3 times. I thought everything was very well thought out, and even though it was better than Defend your Castle and another game I remember playing that was similar to it. The graphics were nice, the sound was kind of repetitive, it would have been nice with some sound options and maybe a cool Command and Conquer background song or somesuch.

Other than that it was great, oh and also one small bug I noticed was that for some reason my air strike meter stopped charging when I went to the next level even though I had 2 workers on it. No matter how many more I bought it wouldn't charge again.

A solid 9 overall. You obviously thought the game out well and it came out well too.

Salad Fingers Episode 2

"That is some seriously fucked up shit..."

date: July 15, 2004

But this is the only time it is in a good way that I say this. This may be some seriously fucked up shit, but it is easily the most brilliant thing I have ever seen.

The graphics were just awesome. The character you used here was just perfect beyond words for what he is trying to do. The sound was IN-credible. The music set a perfect creepy tone and the voice set a perfect creepy tone.

Interactivity = whatever

Style is so unique and awesome that I just had to have a ten there to match the other two so far.

The Violence and humor also recieved 10's... cooking the kid was ridiculous, and I actually cringed when I saw his finger get stabbed by that point. Some points were just ridiculous so that they were hilarious. I loved when he was singing in the dream sequence.

Overall this ten is so well deserved it is insane. You have created a classic for Newgrounds, and although this creation is nearly perfect as it is, cap it all off with a final episode and then put it to rest. Salad Fingers is the best character ever, so I don't want any bad memories of him and I'm sure nobody else here does.

Congratulations!!! Your flash work kicks ASS.

Animated Button Tutorial

"Pretty helpful"

date: July 5, 2004

I didn't know how to do that before. Now I do. Aren't you glad I was in a protective mood? I gave this a five and made the score 1.60... and I was the last vote of judgement. That protection movie is cool. Anyway, it was pretty good, the scores speak for themselves, not graphically intense, not all that good soundwise, good interactivity, not great style but not bad, and no violence or humor. Overall a solid 6. I'm glad I kept this on Newgrounds.

Final Fantasy A+

"Scha-weet"

submission: Final Fantasy A+
date: July 5, 2004

I thought it was great. The style is incredible, and everything from the preloader to the story was well thought out and executed outstandingly. The graphics were a treat, the sound was great, I liked that you did all the Japanese voices with the English speech bubbles. The bar at the bottom that allows you to skip to certain parts in the movie (WMP-esque) was great, and made the interactivity as high as it is for this flash movie.

The violence and such was definitely put in well, and I could definitely appreciate the humor in this piece.

Overall I definitely recommend it to everyone, and I also commend you for putting out such a great work. Everything was pleasing to me, and I don't have any problem with any aspect of the flash. A job well done award for you.

Balloon Duel

"BWA HA HA"

submission: Balloon Duel
date: June 30, 2004

Well, I loved this game before, and now I love it more than life itself. You see, I found a bug in it. If you copy your music from cds in mp3 format using Windows Media Player into the default folders they specify (make sure the quality is set at its lowest) , and you play the music from that path in this game, it turns it into chipmonk music! I suggest you guys listen to the three bands I was listening to (something corporate, Jayhawks, and Simon and Milo) SOOOO FRICKIN' FUNNY. If you guys have any questions about how to do this, just AIM me (profile), and I'd also like the creator to at least reply to this, and tell me what he thinks of it. Anyway, that hilarity aside:

The game was AWESOME!!!

The actions was fun, everything was highly well done, and I was really pumped about the whole import your music type dealie (interactivity... woot)

The humor was a ten just because of this little bug thing, and there was no violence.

Stylin' game, it was awesome. I'm way to excited about this, but hearing my favorite songs jumped up to about twice the speed and a higher pitch was just hilarious.

Overall you get a 10, the game was great, the bug makes it unforgettable and an instant classic.

Infanticidal - Censored

"Well, here goes nothin'"

date: June 28, 2004

Ok, your movie first:

Not particularly good as far as flash movies go. Slideshows are usually deleted not for being against the NG submission rules, but just because they generally take no effort to produce, and are also rarely entertaining. This was certainly no exception. The graphics were used well to get your point across, although I would give point had any of them been your own.

Now for your political opinion:

You think abortion is wrong. Thats OK, believe me. But what isn't OK is forcing your opinion on to other people. We don't need propaganda that shows us the "horrors of abortion" or somesuch. If you think abortion is wrong, simply don't get an abortion. But just because you think abortion is morally wrong it doesn't give you the right to force others to follow your moral path.

The Supreme Court legalized abortion. I think it should stay that way. America is all about protecting the rights of its people. A fetus is not a person. Its developing into one, sure, but it still isn't a person.

Perhaps we should assume that your argument is completely valid. Following that same reasoning, eggs can't be eaten, meat can't be eaten, humans would not be able to eat at all, for whenever we do we would be unfairly ending life, be it plant, animal, whatever.

I am pro-choice. Yea, it kind of sucks to not be alive, but it also kind of sucks to not have a choice. Allowing women the right to choose is essential, because it allows for those who feel their morals don't allow them to do such a thing not to, and those who feel like that is an option to persue it. I'm not a woman, the choice isn't up to me, that is why I would never support anything that would subtract from a woman's right to choose. The problem is that people generally assume that pro-choice is the same as pro-abortion, which is ridiculous. Nobody in their right mind would ever want everyone who could get an abortion to get one.

Pro-choice means, in my case, that I am simply willing to allow a decision to be made by someone other than myself, and I admit that I am not qualified enough to forbid such a decision. Not a single person is qualified to make such a call when it comes to revoking a decision from someone. While I encourage a reply to this review (the choice is yours), I don't really want to read it if you choose to label me based on my stance. (the obvious exception being "pro-choice")

Author's Response:

A slideshow can be done right and still be entertaining. Check out my other slideshow "Hall of Freaks", also not deleted.

"...what isn't OK is forcing your opinion on to other people". - I haven't forced anyone to watch this or change their opinion.

"America is all about protecting the rights of its people. A fetus is not a person." - What makes you so sure it's not a person? The only difference between you and an unborn baby is age. And nowhere in the law is there the idea that age is an allowable basis to discriminate by. Even children have full human rights, and so do babies, and so do unborn babies.

"Following that same reasoning, eggs can't be eaten, meat can't be eaten..." - No, those things are not human and do not have human rights. It's not killing that is wrong, it is murder that is wrong. No one can prevent killing, just wash your hands or even breathe and you have just killed billions of microscopic things.

Again, women do have a choice when it comes to pregnancy, the choice comes when you decide whether or not to have sex. Period.

"Nobody in their right mind would ever want everyone who could get an abortion to get one." - Actually, there are people who want others to get abortions, Rush has called them "Femi-Nazi's" and says there's less than 50 of them in the country. Why do they want ppl to get abortions? Because they own abortion clinics and they make a ton of money everytime someone gets one, that's why.

Bob the Ball - Episode 2

"I can't believe I missed protecting this"

date: June 7, 2004

I'll just have to be content to give you an outstanding review and add to your review score.

First off, I obviously voted five, how could anyone after witnessing such an obviously genius work not vote five is a mystery to me. Quoting this outside of context would not do justice to the genius of its humor, and would detract from the surprise one gets enjoying this.

Everything was there... and I mean everything. I love the comic book/children's book style employed for graphics and style, and the violence was absolutely essential in telling the bob the ball tale. 10's all around except for interactivity, but... who the hell wants a flash MOVIE to be interactive? I know I don't. (play button and preloader exempted).

This is great, I hope you at least make it into a trilogy, that is all I would ask, any more and the idea may get sour, and you owe it to yourself not to let such a great concept go bad.

In closing, a job well done, and I look forward to many more movies from you, as I will be finally updating my favorites list to include this submission, and you as an author.

Author's Response:

Yeah, I agree the interactivity score is kinda useless for this kind of movie...

And I agree that I would not want to do much more than a trilogy, I only have plans for 3 episodes, and I do agree that this style can get stale pretty fast. I will make two Flash music videos before I begin work on Bob 3. They probably won't score as well as a Bob episode, but oh well.

Thanks for the review, vote, and adds to favorites!

Madness Apotheosis

"Got to admit its getting better, a little better.."

submission: Madness Apotheosis
date: June 7, 2004

Madness is great, nay AWESOME. It gets more incredible every time. Honestly, people who say the bodies are easy to draw and say anybody can do them don't know what they're talking about, I see very few copies of Krinkel's style (which is almost completely original anyway).

To those who say this movie is exactly the same as the other three: *Buzzer* WRONG! This movie is a major improvement plotwise and everything else. First of all, when have you guys seen the camera do those angles in a Madness movie? I don't remember usage of anything else but a side-scrolling format before. Also added were major plot elements, such as the hinting beforehand of the injuries he's recieved and how he's just bandaged them up and kept on going. I can't even BEGIN to get into the finer complexities of a movie like this, it gives so many messages in it its incredible. Never give up, don't stop what you want to reach as a goal just because others don't see the point, don't do drugs (just kidding).

Anyway, the graphics were quite obviously genius, the style is quite obviously genius, the violence is definitely a ten, the sound was perfectly sync-ed, and the idea of a green clown with a mask on DJing a rave in Nevada in the middle of random military installation is HILARIOUS. Add it all up, its all there.

10 and 5 are required for such an outstanding work of Flash, and I'm glad I have been given the privelege to add to the definitely correct score and review average score. Krinkels: you... are... the man...

Smack The Rabbits!

"C'mon Crew"

submission: Smack The Rabbits!
date: May 30, 2004

This game is quite obviously genius. I gave it a five, but hopefully some others will follow so this thing can pass. Graphics are great, Concept is awesomely hilarious, very stylin' (who the hell wants to have a title screen with directions and such when the object of the game is so obvious?)

Everyone: Pass this game, its definitely deserving of being on here, and should have a good score as well instead of the 1.55 it had when I voted on it
